Giuseppe Verdi:
Sanctus from the Requiem
for Trombone Octet

Back to Ensemble Index

A number of years ago, when I was still playing in the Baltimore Symphony, Dave Fetter complained to me that too many trombone choir pieces were slow and somber, and he was having trouble finding pieces to create variety on his programs.

I did this transcription in response to his complaint. The piece makes a great encore for your trombone choir, or can be very effective when paired with the Requiem Aeternam that I have also transcribed for trombones.

Suitable for college or professional level.
